Gemini Notebook Adds Review before Generating Slides and Videos

Design UX News
Google Gemini Notebook now allows users to review slide outlines and video producer notes before the AI renders the final output.
What: The new optional 'Review' toggle in the Studio panel lets users edit content structures for slides and videos. This global rollout began on October 19, 2026.
Why it matters: This introduces a human-in-the-loop checkpoint to manage the high error rate of generative media, shifting the AI from an autonomous generator to a collaborative assistant.

Google is adding a review step to slide and video creation in Gemini Notebook. Announced on October 19, the update is rolling out globally to all users over the following week.

Starting in chat, users can ask for a presentation or video overview. Notebook proposes topics based on their sources, then lets them guide the content, visual style and format.

Check the plan before rendering

The new Review toggle adds a checkpoint in the Studio panel. Users can open outline notes for slides or producer notes for videos and request changes, such as adding an executive summary or changing the order of scenes. Selecting Proceed starts generation.

This gives users a chance to correct the structure before committing to a finished output. It is a planning checkpoint, rather than a guarantee that the generated material will be accurate.

The review step is optional. Users who want an immediate result can still generate from the Studio panel without enabling it.
