Logo.dev MCP Server (Website)

Design Logo.dev
The new Logo.dev MCP server allows AI agents to programmatically fetch brand assets using identifiers like tickers, ISINs, or domains.
What: By integrating with the Model Context Protocol (MCP), agents running in environments like Cursor or VS Code can now access real-time brandmarks and logos via Logo.dev's API without requiring manual API key management.
Why it matters: Using MCP to expose SaaS tools directly to agents removes the friction of manual configuration and key storage, making agentic workflows more robust for local development.
Takeaway: If you are building an agent in Cursor or Claude, add the Logo.dev MCP server to allow your agent to automatically retrieve brand logos during development tasks.
Deep dive
  • Exposes Logo.dev functionality to any MCP-compliant client.
  • Supports authentication via OAuth directly through the MCP client.
  • Automatically maps agent tool calls to team-based billing.
  • Supports retrieval by ISIN, ticker, crypto symbol, domain, or brand name.
Decoder
  • MCP (Model Context Protocol): An open standard that enables AI models to connect securely to local data and internal tools.
  • ISIN (International Securities Identification Number): A 12-character alphanumeric code that uniquely identifies a specific securities issue.
Original article

The Logo.dev MCP server gives AI agents the Logo.dev API as tools. Your agent can look up a brand by domain, ticker, ISIN, crypto symbol, or name, fetch its logo or brandmark, search brands, and manage webhook subscriptions.

Transport and sign-in

The server uses the streamable HTTP transport and signs you in with OAuth. The first time you connect, your MCP client opens a browser window where you sign in to Logo.dev. You don’t put a secret key in the client’s configuration. Each tool runs as, and bills to, your team. If you have no team, it runs as your personal account. You don’t need to create an API key for MCP. Each tool has the same access checks, rate limits, and webhook subscription behavior as the REST route it mirrors. Tool calls count as MCP usage, which spends API credits at the same rates as REST requests.
