Build and manage Connected Apps in one place

AI Google
Google launched a unified Connected Apps Platform to integrate third-party tools into both Google Search and the Gemini app.
What: The platform allows developers to build app integrations once and deploy them to both Gemini and Search using Android or cloud-hosted Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers. Partners already include Adobe, Calm, and Peloton.
Why it matters: Google is betting that users want AI to be a command center for other services; by creating a unified API surface, they aim to attract developers to build within the Google ecosystem rather than just standalone apps.
Takeaway: Sign up for the preview at developers.google.com/connected-apps if you want to integrate your application's functionality directly into Gemini's interface.

Build and manage Connected Apps in one place

We’re launching a Connected Apps Platform to give developers a single place to build and manage apps for Search and the Gemini app. Plus, we’re rolling out a new set of Connected Apps from partners like Adobe, Calm, and Peloton.

From ordering groceries to making playlists, Connected Apps in Search and the Gemini app have made everyday tasks faster and easier.

To help users get more done, today we’re launching the preview of our Connected Apps Platform, a unified way for more app developers to bring their capabilities directly into Gemini and Search. We’re also rolling out a new set of Connected Apps partners to give people even more ways to streamline their day.

Manage Connected Apps with ease

The Connected Apps Platform gives developers the opportunity to build once and reach high-intent users across both Search and the Gemini app. Developers integrate with a cloud-hosted MCP server or Android MCP using the AppFunctions APIs, then use the Google Connected Console to register, test, and submit their app. Before review, developers choose whether it will go live in Search, the Gemini app, or both. Once live, you can track traffic, latency, and error rates, and keep control of your brand identity, including verified logos and authenticated accounts.

We're opening access in phases, and will add more developers, markets, and Google products over the coming months. Sign up for the preview and explore the documentation at developers.google.com/connected-apps.

Connect to your favorite tools

We’ve launched more than 50 Connected Apps between Search and Gemini in areas ranging from productivity and event ticketing to health and fitness. Integrations with partners like Adobe, Experian, Localiza, and Peloton are live for users in Gemini, and in the coming weeks, we’ll be bringing these Connected Apps to Search as well. Among other apps, we'll also be launching a new integration with Calm across both Search and Gemini.
